The Corfu Island shipwreck is being brought up from Davy Jones' Locker, to be turned into scrap metal after decades of lying on the sea bed.
Davy Jones' Locker, as pirates and sailors of the 16th century would call the bottom of the sea, holds a lot of shipwrecks. Greece's sea is no exception. The total number of them remains unknown to this day, but during WW2 alone, more than a thousand ships ended up in the Locker.
Some of these shipwrecks are being resurrected.
Salvaging them is an expensive operation but besides financial benefits, the process, also, reveals hints of historical moments.
