Greek Orthodox Christian pilgrims crawl uphill on the Cycladic island of Tinos, Greece, to worship the miraculous Icon of Virgin Mary, on August 15, every year.
August 15 is the day of Koimisis tis Theotokou - Virgin Mary Assumption Day, a national holiday for Greek Orthodox Christians.
Believers from all over the country crawl uphill to the church of Panagia Evangelistria on their hands and knees to prove their devotion and pray for compassion, good health, and healing.
